The Role
Very varied over the year
Could have been better supported at times
Often left with little work to do, having to ask for jobs during lull in projects
Fair amount of responsability....included design lead for major re-design of low pressure fuel system.
Very good non- engineering based skills and training offered.
The Company
Some depts. offered very structured work plans for the year, others (including mine) was a lot more relaxed and sometimes meant there was little to do. Company training was very good.
Offered various training, both enginering based and professional skills based (presentations, meetings etc). Allowed use of company time to take part in various community activities, including young enterprise and to organise charity events during work time, aswell as use of cars / company resources to help with events.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
National Travel
Not offered jobs due to current recruitment freeze. Was told application would be very favourbly looked at when freeze lifted.
The Culture
Good intereaction with other students (16 in total) various nights out etc.
Lived in Newcastle (where at uni)
Other than charity and community work, not much.
