The Role
It was an incredibly enjoyable experience far more than expected! The SIP team ensured we had many social events. I felt I learnt so much and I met some people that I will stay in contact with for a long time.
I felt I carried out important projects and tasks like any other graduate and my colleagues appreciated the fact that I was able to carry them out.
I received a buddy and a counsellor who both ensured I fitted in, was always kept busy and was hitting the targets that were set for me.
I felt I always had work to carry out or when there were quieter times i could always ask someone from my team and they would provide me with work to carry out.
I was entrusted with client work and able to shadow meetings throughout the 5 weeks so I felt I was given as much responsibility as possible.
The skills I gained will help me so much in future employment. Knowing the standards that are expected and how a large organisation works has been hugely beneficial. Doing an accounting and finance degree means the accounting work has helped me gain an understanding as to how my degree knowledge applies to the real world.
The Company
The atmosphere was a perfect balance. People were so friendly the when there was time to stop and chat it was easy to do so but when you needed to focus on your work you were also able to do so.
Mostly well. We didn't have as many organised social events as previous years however we always knew what was going on and our departments had planned well for our arrival.
My department took many hours to explain more technical things with me and were so helpful. There were also web based learnings to help our understanding.
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
I was given an offer and will be accepting it!
The Culture
There were not as many organised social events by the SIP team as in previous years and more would have been nice. However the interns took it upon themselves to organise as much as possible which ended up as usually at least 3 nights a week. Drinks with your department were also organised.
Having always lived in London it is expensive but I'm used to it!
There is something for everyone and we tried many different bars, pubs and clubs.
We were introduced to some during a sports and other societies fair.
