The Role
really good placement, challenging work and responsibility given to me.
very valued within the team.
excellent manager who gave me lots of support through the year including giving me opportunities to spend time in other departments.
was always busy with lots of projects to work on, but never felt like i had too much work on at once
i was given lots of responsibility for my own projects and allowed to liaise with engineers from other departments.
very usefull skills that complimented what i had learnt at uni
The Company
good friendly atmosphere within the team, made feel very welcome although we still worked hard!
training was organised fairly well, although it was necessary to be proactive to get some things organised
all students got lots of training and as a design student i was given extra job specific training. i was also given lots of opportunities for personal development, such as requesting to be given analysis work and spending time in other departments. Engineers also allowed me to accompany them on supplier visits.
I would definitley consider going back to the company and have been told there would be future job opportunities for me both in the uk and abroad.
The Culture
there were 30 students at cummins so there was lots of sociallising and this made it very easy to settle in a new place.
average
no nightlife in daventry, although most people travelled to northampton for a night out
there are football teams and other sports that many people in the company are involved in
