The Role
The work is rewarding and satisfying. However, given that you are not able to put on trades, most of your work involves support work for your traders.
Your colleagues don't value you too much. After all, they've been doing their job for years, while you are a newcomer. Don't expect a red carpet upon your arrival.
Traders are busy, so don't expect too much guidance from your manager. You are expected to do things on your own and to come up with creative solutions.
On my first rotation, i was very busy. I have been working on one huge project for the entire duration of my rotation. On the other hand, on my second rotation, I sometimes found myself with nothing to do.
I definitely did not put on trades, but I provided my desks with information that they were using to put on trades. I'd say that's as much responsibility as you can get as an intern.
I developped programming skills, amongst others. I learned to program in VBA, Bloomberg, and I became better with excel. This type of skills is helpful in any field.
The Company
My first office was pretty dull, my second one was more lively.
The internship was well organized, it's clear that these people had interns before.
The company definitely invested in me. They don't need interns, they can do their job without them. For interns it's all about learning.

Whether you get an offer is determined by your performance on the desks you are rotating on.
The Culture
The social scene was good, but not great. A lot of people had personal agendas.
London is expensive.
Expensive.
There were voluneeting and sports opportunities, but there isn't too much time to do too much outside of work.
