The Role
I have had a great year and learnt a huge amount which will help in all future aspects of my studies and career. It has provided me with a realistic view of what to expect in the workplace whilst also giving me an insight into the work involved.
I always felt like a valued member of the team and my opinions were always ackowledged and on several occaions put into practice.
Guidance is offered throughout when needed, however there is also the culture of learning how to 'do it yourself' which is great because you learn so much more and can really use your own creativity.
I was constantly being kept busy with a variety of tasks. Being able to work on different projects across a variety of roles means you can acquire a broad range of skills in a short space of time.
I was given a lot more responsibility than I ever first imagined. There was no distinction between interns or graduates therefore the experience was a true reflection of what it would be like to have a place on the graduate scheme here.
I have learnt so much on placement without even realising. My time management and technical skills have been significantly enhanced which will prove a to be a huge benefit when returning to university.
The Company
Working on some intense projects there were some very stressful periods where I had to work long hours to deliver on time, however this was always recognised and would be a team effort therefore making the atmosphere a fun but driven learning environment.
The internship was a lot more than I ever expected. It is very well organised by giving us sufficient training and also allowing us to move across different projects and roles.
I initially recieved some very good training which equipped me for some of the activities I had to execute over the year. If the tasks were difficult or something I hadnt done before I found the best way to tackle it was to be honest with my manager if I felt I didnt have the necessary skills and as a result I was given extra, one on one help where needed. My manager would then set me more tasks within an area I found challenging so I could further develop my skillset.

I would definitely come back to the company as a graduate if offered a position. The training and opportunities available are a great way for me to start my career.
The Culture
Generally there are small events held between colleagues on a monthly basis which are great for team engagement. Between fellow placement students, I have found there to be a great social scene which really helped me settle into the company and have a better work life balance.
Working in central London for most of the year meant the cost of living and socialising was very expensive, however I am very glad I have had the opportunity to work and be able to experience such a a great city.
There is always something to do in London which means making plans at the weekend is never difficult. Which such an array of bars, restaurants and clubs there was always something to do.
As a whole, there are some opportunities, various networks and charity days to get involved with outside of work. There was also smaller, project activities that were available.
