The Role
My placement was very enjoyable. I worked on two client projects and it seemed to be quite in depth in IT at the start but I soon picked it up and was able to progress my own knowledge which helped towards my degree and help the client at the same time.
Everyone was really welcoming and we had regular socials between the interns and on the project.
I was supported by a 'buddy' on each project and my manager's were really approachable and keen to comment on my performance and give me performance feedback.
I always had tasks to do, and if I didn't I would ask and soon get given a few.
Loads! I was treated as a graduate and have significant levels of responsibility to make decisions throughout my project.I even managed a small team of subcontractors at one point.
They will help massively. My organisational and prioritising skills have improved as well as my ability to cope under pressure which will help in exams.
The Company
A lot of people of a similar age were on the project so the atmosphere was good. There were times when the pressure was on but a celebration always followed.
Accenture are an experienced company, projects within the organisation look to take on new interns because of the good work they have done in the past so you are in demand.
I received training in Excel and developed my technical knowledge in IT which I didn't have before (my degree is business based).

The Culture
Excellent. HR organised regular socials like urban golf, bowling etc. and the interns met up regularly. We have our own 7 a side football team that play on monday mornings.
Socialising in London is AMAZING. But the cost of living is high.
Its London, there is everything there you could ask for!
Sports and societies of all kinds.
