The Role
I enjoyed being in a working environment and being part of a team however the work load could of been better. I would still strongly recommend a placement at Airbus.
In some situation I felt valued however because I was only with the company a year some people were reluctant to include me in tasks.
This varied from week to week depending on how busy my manager was. Some weeks I had a lot of support others I didnt.
My work load varied, some days I would be busy other days I would be waiting for my next task to come in.
I was given quite a bit of responsibiity, I was handling capital expenditure cases of up to €2 million however if there was an issue with anything it would of been picked up from a higher level.
My time at Airbus developed not only me skills but my self confidence. I am now looking forward to entering into my next job with the awareness to a working environment. I also feel much more determined to achieve in my final year than I did before my placement.
The Company
The atmosphere in the office wasn't great, it could of been a lot better. However I was with two other interns so this helped me a lot.
The internship structure has been improved by our recommendations. The structure wasn't very good at all whilst I was there.
Not a lot of training, there were courses that could be taken but none of these were offered to me.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
The company does appeal to me however it is to far away from where I want to live.
The Culture
The interns met up regularly and it would be my recommendation for future interns to push to do this. It made the whole year much more enjoyable and wouldn't of been the same if we didn't have such a good intern community.
It was more than where I am from and I lived on my own which made it more expensive however if sharing it's not too bad. Well worth the expense though.
It was really good! Small but much better.
Yes there were lots of opportunities for those wanting to take part. Gym, Football, Fitness Classes ,social Club and much more.
