The Role
There were definitely some lows as well as highs as there is with any learning experience. On the whole however I really enjoyed my placement.
My colleagues were veyr encouraging and ready to listen to what I had to say, even in meetings with senior colleagues!
Very supportive line manager and colleagues.
very! I was the leader of my charity challenge and had many projects so was fitting everything in.
I feel my projects added real value, however as I was only 10 weeks there was limited responsibility I could have.
The techincal skills I have learnt ( excel and modeling software) will be of great use, as will my improved knowlegde of the energy industry.
The Company
The work is very computer based and so most people have their heads down a lot of the time. Saying that the people were all very nice and welcoming.
Very well organised with good communication from the graduate team.
I feel that by having a line manager/team that were so willing to answer questions and provide guidance I was able to develop a lot.
Very appealing. I think one of Cenrtica's greatest assets are it's people and I would love to be part of that.
The Culture
everyone got on really well and there was always somehting going on.
Although we worked in Staines and lived in Uxbridge which is fairly cheap we normally went into london (as it is more exciting/more choice) which is obvisouly quite expensive.
We generally went into London in the evenings as I think Uxbridge isn't the best.
Charity challenge!
