The Role
Very friendly, relaxed yet professional. You are treated as a member of the team and the organisational culture is second-to-none.
Involved in all team events from day one; lots of fun was had!
You're assigned at least 3 points of contact for support, as well as all the other placement students.
You do sometimes have a little bit of a lull, but I was lucky in the fact I was constantly moved about and had substantial responsibilities which kept me busy.
A lot, within 5 minutes of arriving I was already booked up for meetings and had presentations to give.
Working in this environment has put my studies into context - it allows you to realise what impact the theory has for yourself.
The Company
Everyone was chatty and sociable but never at the expense of work. Work came first but that never means you have to do it in silence!
Tiny bumps along the way regarding when certain pieces of admin needed to be completed but this never impacted your performance or success at all. Very well organised placement overall.
The company invest a lot of trust in you during the placement; it's very clear they invest even more into you during the graduate scheme.
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
Working from home
Have an interview for the graduate scheme, from there it's incredibly easy for me to build a career with them afterwards.
The Culture
As you're in halls together you do spend a lot of time together; people have different ways of balancing their work life balance and sometimes this can cause differences. However everyone is keen to socialise.
Not too expensive, if anything travel cost more (being just outside London, everyone wanted to travel into the city).
I worked in Staines...it's a load of pubs and bars, not the greatest. However team events did take us further afield so this never impacted the working life.
The charity challenge especially enabled staff to have fun and join together.
