The Role
Found it really good fun with the work very interesting. I like the way the company treats interns by giving them proper projects which allows you to work on mostly one project the whole way through.
I found that my colleagues valued my work as they gave me quite a bit of responsibility. There were also alot of interns in the company and a good sense of community.
My manager was always available for help if I needed and I could email or ring them when I got stuck. There was also a good network of support around that with a buddy who would keep up with how I was doing and other managers who would be responsible for groups of interns.
I found the work balance exactly right. There was always work that I could do and with suggestions from my manager I never got bored.
I was very impressed by the amount of responsibility given. They gave us as much independence as we wanted and an interesting project to complete. I went into the internship naively thinking that I would be doing much less important work under much greater supervision but fortunately I was proved wrong.
Although I doubt the skills I found out will directly help me in my degree next year I do believe I will find them useful later in life. Furthermore, the wider skills, such as research, will come in very handy. I also think that the experience of work is worthwhile.
The Company
Good, my colleagues were very friendly and there was another intern who was very nice and could help me if I got stuck. Our office was fairly empty though so might not be representative of the company as a whole.
They seemed very organised. Each intern had their own individual project which had all been set up before we arrived. There were also group projects where interns would be put into teams so we got a mixture of work.
The company offered training and also had a lot of on-line resources so you could learn a lot. There was a lot of teaching yourself but then you were getting paid to do this.

I would really enjoy working for the company again if I was asked. Talking to the other interns, the projects seemed very different so if I came back I'm sure I would not necessarily be working on the same things so I guess its a good opportunity to get loads of different experiences.
The Culture
The interns had a good social scene. We would always meet up for lunch and had a couple of activities in the evenings and weekends. The company also provided a social budget which was nice! We didn't really spend much time with any of the interns in other offices across the country but met up a couple of time. The graduates in the company also seemed to have a good scene but we didn't really meet up with them.
I lived rent free so can't really say, however, some of the interns rented accommodation from the nearby uni and it seemed to be okay for them. It was a fairly expensive area.
Night-life in the area was not that good but then it wasn't very far from cities where I'm sure it would have been better.
There was a football club, a cinema club and several other clubs so a fair amount of social activities. There was also an interns social budget.
