The Role
i had a lot of mixed messages from the graduate team and my line managers about how independent i was supposed to be
team managers would always listen to me at meetings and come along to my presentations, the odd manager would not seem interested but i guess you get that in every company
i had weekly one to one sessions and could ask questions on an ad-hoc basis. I had a grad buddy who i spoke to a lot for guidance, i found this really useful as she gave me really good advice without it being a formal arrangement
most of the time i would be busy, but towards the end when my project was finishing i did not have as much to do
i was the manager of my own project although final proposals/ideas had to be signed off by my line manager i was responsible for coordinating everything i did
to be honest my role did not have much to do with my economic degree directly but did indirectly in terms of how the business makes decisions in the current economic climate
The Company
it was quite loud, busy and sometimes rowdy as it was a call centre, i sometimes found it too noisy to work in
communication between me and my managers was good but between me and the grad team and my managers was not that good
not all training was given that was initially promised
i do not think i will work there as a graduate, i'mm not sure i like the large company atmosphere
The Culture
ive made new friends for life, we went out together for meals, drinks, clubbing etc etc
good student city so prices were reasonable
Leeds has a lot of night life
i went to the pub quiz, but not many things appealed to my age group
