The Role
Didn't enjoy the placement - will not be looking for a career in Investment Banking.
Was not given any work of particular importance over the whole 8 weeks
My mentor was quite nice and would explain things but I felt as though I was wasting his time quite a lot
Struggled to find work a lot of the time (although at least this meant I didn't have to stay until the early hours)
Not much at all
Learnt a fair amount, which hopefully will be useful even if I don't pursue GIB as a career
The Company
The people were pleasant but not overly friendly. There seems to be a very competitive atmosphere amongst other teams in particular
Organisation was fine - we had a good training week and heard from members of other departments
Training week was a good investment
Subsidised Canteen
Not very - maybe in a different department where the hours are less and the work is more interesting
The Culture
Only when socialising with other departments - did not go out at all with interns in GIB, most of the bars are closed by the time everyone gets out of work!
Expensive
Only went out once - it was ok
Not at all
