    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Learnt an enormous amount and colleagues were very willing to teach.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Little or no scope to contribute to the company in a meaningful way - whilst I was on a trading desk, I do see scope for some sort of 'project' to exist, allowing interns to learn and add value.

    3/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My 'mentor' was not very interested, but other members of the team were pleased to help me learn, and aided me in seeking experience beyond the desk.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Some days the desk was very quiet, and lack of a 'project' meant it wasn't busy. However, I could supplement learning with access to an online training package.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Was able to submit the daily P&L from week 6-8.

    1/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Was able to learn a lot, which will greatly enhance my CV and confidence in applying for future positions.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Friendly and lively, teams were content and everyone approachable.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Lack of any kind of social activity was a shame.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Firm has investment considerable time and money in its interns - they should try harder to measure our performance.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • 1/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
