The Role
Work was slightly mundane but that should be expected in Finance
Very friendly atmosphere
Help always provided when asked, tasks explained clearly
When the olympics wasn't on I occasionally had quieter days but boredom could be avoided by completing one of the many online tuition courses
I felt useful once I had become acquainted with the tools and daily procedures in my department
This was highly dependent on my department- in some I learned considerably more than others, but overall I am happy with the skills and knowledge I am going to take away from the internship
The Company
Friendly and relaxed
HR were very good, however there could have been more socials and team building exercises
training was very good
Subsidised Canteen
They take on a decent percentage of interns outside of GIB and Trading
The Culture
Good social scene if you made the effort, but not enough social events organised
Lived at home, rent is filthy expensive though
Best nights are out in East and Farringdon area, avoid central unless you like clubs full of heirs to oil fortunes and wags
Not really but recommend forming a five a side work league if you can
