The Role
It was great, fantastic company and I am very interested in starting a career here.
I got on well with everyone I worked with and being a part of the same team for the full 8 weeks ment that you could get to know everyone as much as possible.
Support was always there when needed and we also had a 'buddy' system with people in the business area we are in which was a great source of guidence when unsure of anything.
Levels of work fluctuated as with anything. Some times I was very busy and someytimes I had little to be getting on with. It was a pretty good balance though and most of you would not be bored.
I took on every task that was being done in my team, so felt very trusted and like I was actually making a difference to the daily business, but i was not running the show.
The knowledge i have gained about banking as a whole and RBC Capital Markets Ops specifically has been invaluable and I would not change it.
The Company
It was a friendly relaxing atmosphere which created a brilliant place to work....... but it is still an office and i wouldnt say the fun never stopped.
it was very well organised with team building projects and you join a specific area for the whole 8 weeks, so its really down to your manager how the rest is organised.
we had alot of one on one sessions with top people in the business area and with other departments to develope my understanding as much as possible
i would love to work for RBC and I feel i ahve done as much as i can to make that happen, but i dont know if i have the job yet.
The Culture
it was really good but there was no official socials organised by RBC which would have been helpful at the beginning
it was in london so very very expensive.....
it was in the centre of london so it was awesome but you dont go out that much as your working long hours
it depends on the people you work with and the sort of group of interns but at RBC it was really good this year
