The Role
Very interesting, structured and the other employees were all really helpful
Most people couldn't do enough for you
Your immediate supervisor changes with each client but the bast majority were really good, nobody assumed any accounting knowledge which made you feel less useless than you would imagine! The overall manager for the interns was brilliant and really approachable
With it being summer, the audit season is at its slowest but this allows a lot more information to be gleaned from staff who arent too bust to talk to you
You produce documents that go directly into the eAudit software to be reviewed by a senior manager and eventually seen by a partner
While not directly related to me degree, this internship gives you a valuable insight into corporate life and the level of work, committment and resonsibilities you will given beyond your university course
The Company
The staff are significantly younger than I anticipated and there is a real opportunity to meet colleagues outside work through numerous socials and events. A very unexpected bonus!
Very well structured as you would expect from this size company
The company are clearly interested in getting to know you and your working style and committment. You get back what you put in and KPMG are more than willing to make the effort
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
Very...
The Culture
All the interns were in the same boat and we spent a lot of time together both in and outside the office. A great bunch of guys/girls
Nottingham is definitely no London
Plenty of bars, restaurants, cinema etc
Football, cricket, socials, cocktail making events, a real ecclectic mixture of things to get involved with
