The Role
Really enjoyed it, but was a shame because never met the other interns so could have been more fun that way.
Everyone in KPMG was very nice and welcoming throughout the placement
Whenever contacted they were helpful and found us new projects when necessary, but there was little other contact with them. Our in-team day to day managers were great and very helpful though out.
Internship was during the Olympics so the office was less busy than normal at the time, however the work load was hugely varied throughout which many said was a good representation of MC
We were given decent work to do, but often the shortness of our placement (because of the olympic summer) meant there wasn't long enough to train us to do some more important tasks.
Helped with a lot of skills and also learning the way an office based job works from an inside perspective was very useful to see if the job suited you or not.
The Company
Everyone was very nice in the office and welcoming throughout. The office had a hard working atmosphere but the majority of staff members were always happy to stop for a chat with the interns between tasks.
Being in the olympic summer meant there was less work and more varied work for the interns. Many employees took holiday during the time so we moved around teams a lot but this gave a varied experience overall.
We had a 2 day induction course in which we were given presentation skills talks and did team building activities. There was no more training in the internship but colleagues were always happy to help with things you didn't understand.
Subsidised Canteen
Waiting to hear if we have interviews now, but most interns are given the chance to interview.
The Culture
Exams meant a couple of us started the internship late and never met the rest of the intern team as there were no official intern events within the company during the placement. This was a shame.
London! Very expensive but worth the experience.
I rented in Camden and it was great! Canary Wharf also had great bars and restaurants by the river for after work socials.
All interns participated in a CSR day on Clapham common and I did a second one in a city farm with some graduates.
