The Role
Enjoyed working with interesting colleagues, including 30+ students also on placement. Good introduction to working within a finance department, responsibilities somewhat limited to the role, although I was able to get involved with various projects.
Total responsibility within my role, including scope to develop my own processes and tweak my role. Full respect from other members off staff- treated as a full employee and welcomed into the team.
Excellent management with full support and confidence shown in me.
Rarely had nothing to do, and enjoyed the high pressure end of months. If anything was slightly light workload.
Although restricted to my own role, was given the support and confidence to get on with the job on my own. Given responsibility to develop new processes.
IT skills such as excel developed greatly, although nothing really to do with my degree. Developed a good work ethic to take into final year studies.
The Company
Good atmosphere, colleagues welcomed from day one. Nice relaxed atmosphere in the office although proffesional.
Weak HR department although I had an excellent placement department who kept me well informed.
Although I pushed for them myself, was able to take 3 days of external Excel training. Good handover from previous employee. Invested in sending me to Prague on one project - I was generally pleased with most areas of personal development.

The Culture
Being over 30 students on the scheme there was a good social set up. Nights out, good banter at work as well as sports activities.
Average
As I lived in Reading there was an ok nightlife, although in my opinion it was quite bland.
Played in the company football team, also had a student 6 a side team and did various other activities
