The Role
Overall, really enjoyed my time.
I quickly became part of the team and wasn't treated any worse than others.
In most cases I could count on my manager / people for whom I worked to provide with additional guidance if I needed it.
Great balance, obviously some days were busier but in general I worked good hours without being bored
I was given access to the systems and worked on products that are actually being used in production.
Gained experience in a mixture of commonly used technology and some propietary ones (which are obviously much less transferable)
The Company
Standard, you can't expect too much fun in an investment bank afterall, but it was friendly and welcoming.
Not many extra events (e.g. talks, workshops), intern group projects were uninspiring (separate from my main job - which was great). However, on a plus side, all the formalities went through really smoothly
I didn't do any courses, but it's just an internship, so there wasn't enough time for that. In terms of informal tuition from my colleagues it was great, and they happily shared their expertise.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
Looking good.
The Culture
There were quite a few people to hang out with, but I expected something better
London, what can I say...
It was rather pricey but definitely good, it's London afterall, everybody can find somethign for themselves/
Considering opportunities created by the employer there weren't many, but given it's London you were never bored and you could easily find something fun to do.
