The Role
Atmosphere was very relaxed and colleagues easy to get on with, but unable to do that much work to assist those around me as would have required more training than I could do in the 10 week period.
Everyone was friendly, and was bought a few drinks early on. However, it was a pretty quiet office with most communication by email, so not a lot of interaction on a daily basis.
Good support and very friendly/approachable
Quite often bored, as either frustrated by IT/access issues or waiting for a new project to be assigned.
Not much, but the area I was working in would have been critical to the business if any mistakes were made. Was mainly running side projects, but preferred that to doing the main jobs which I wouldn't have been capable of doing properly and getting them wrong.
Good introduction to working in an office environment and the skills required.
The Company
Focused on work, with mainly email communication so not a lot of chatting. Everyone friendly, but not a lively environment.
Well set up overall as a company, but experiences varied from place to place. My office had not taken interns before so was less prepared than others and took time for them to think of things for me to do. Organisation and communication from Lloyds very clear though
3 'webinars' that offered fairly average advice, along with opening & closing events in London with the chance to meet senior managers.
More than 80% of interns offered places onto the Graduate scheme last year, and if you work hard are likely to be referred by your line manager.
The Culture
Got on well with fellow interns - with 100 taken on each year there is usually someone else in your location.
Reasonable for a major city centre
Not really with colleagues, and as I was commuting from a significant distance did not get involved in anything in the local area.
