The Role
I loved it. Great working environment and people, and I also had a chance to work on a genuinely interesting real project. I have always been fascinated about web analytics from doing an e-business module at university: Learning how big companies like SAS measure their online activity was very interesting and rewarding.
Quite valued, since I was the first person to look into the project.
The support and guidance was fantastic. My project leader trusted me to get on with the project, but if I did not understand something he was there to explain everything in depth. Additionally I had a weekly meeting with him to discuss the project; from the meeting he would give me feedback on the project.
I never felt like there was nothing to do. I only had 3 weeks to complete my project so I had a tight schedule and a lot to do.
I was not given step by step instructions on how to carry out my project. I was allowed the freedom to get on with work and deliver the end project with only necessary input from my project leader.
I learnt quite a lot. I developed SAS programming skills, presentation skills, team working skills, project management, time management, working under pressure. All these skills I believe will be useful during my final year of my degree. The presentation skills training I received was very helpful and I will use the techniques I learnt when I do back to university .
The Company
Relaxed friendly working environment and everyone was approachable. The marketing department had a sleek, open-plan layout, promoting better communication.
Very well structured, first week of placement we received base SAS programming course. The following week we then received SAS enterprise Guide crash course, presentation skills training, worked on a video project aimed at promoting SAS to current students, attended the SAS professional convention where we had an opportunity to meet SAS clients and promote ITMB. The final 3 weeks we all worked on our assigned projects.

SAS recruits graduates for different job roles If there is a graduate job position available, I will not think twice about applying.
The Culture
Every Wednesday we all used to go cinema in High Wycombe
I worked in Marlow and it is very expensive, so we all used to socialise in High Wycombe, which was 12-20 minutes drive from Marlow.
