The Role
I had no previous experience working on a trading floor and I have truly enjoyed it.
The team I was placed with and the other interns were all quality people and easy to work with.
My manager and team were very helpful with an issues I had and were eager to teach me.
Overall I was kept very busy. Some days are dull, but then other days are very hectic.
I was given tasks that were quite helpful to the my team even if they were sometimes mundane.
I learned more about markets and trading then I have in three years at university.
The Company
BlackRock has an excellent corporate culture. It is a very team focused atmosphere, which made it great.
Very well organised. The HR team constantly updated us on meetings and events. There were many events that were just created for the interns.
My manager spent a lot of time teaching me and made sure I met the right people who could help me.
I have exceeded the expectations of my manager, it just comes down to how many spots are open for grad hiring.
The Culture
HR organised several events for all the interns and we organised many of our own.
London is obviously expensive, but we did a good job of finding the cheap places.
Excellent after work atmosphere in the city.
We did a volunteer day at a primary school and a few of us joined the company softball team.
