The Role
An enjoyable experiance which provided a valuable insight into a career with the firm. Although I was only an intern I was made to feel an integral part of the department
Feedback system was easy and effective, allowing colleagues to provide you with assessment following the completion of tasks. I feel this allowed me to appreciate the value of the tasks which I completed
Regular sessions with a senior member of staff (an assigned counciller) provided an opportunity to receive support
Really depended. Some weeks I'd be busy every day, others there wouldn't be too much work so I'd be quieter. However, I still managed to fill each day from 9-5:30
Depended on the task. Some tasks required responsibility whereas others would be passed onto many other members of the firm after you had completed them so naturally less responsibility was given.
Won't be transferable to my science degree but definately will be within a future career in PS
The Company
Office was friendly and open seating ment that you'd sit next to staff of different levels which I liked as this allowed me to see what the day-to-day work of more senior individuals was.
Generally very well organised. Lots of drinks for interns within the office and training within the first week was also well organised and informative.
Senior staff took time to go through tasks with me which made me feel valued and also allowed me to understand tasks better.
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Was offered a permanent job a few days after finishing my internship.
The Culture
Interns met up for regular drinks, but numbers varied because of people on away jobs (mostly audit)
Already had accommodation which helped.
Didn't really seem to be anything going on outside of office hours with the exception of drinks.
