The Role
I spent a really enjoyable two weeks at TW. Everybody I encountered was absolutely lovely. All the Vac schemers got on really well both with one another and the trainees, and everybody from the grad recruitment to the partners made it very clear they were there to support us throughout the two weeks. This meant that I genuinely felt relaxed, and could completely be 'myself' throughout it. (This was a stark contrast to my previous placement)
All the work I was given I felt was useful, and I didn't once have to photocopy or file anything away! There was certainly a feeling that the firm wanted us to do well, we weren't just a spare part, and they certainly weren't trying to catch us out- we were told repeatedly that we could potentially be the future of the firm.
Particularly during my first week, the support was exceptional. I recieved feedback for every piece of work I did, even from partners and at the end of each week you complete a self-appraisal form which you then discuss with your supervisor. I found this very helpful as I knew where I stood before beginning my second week, giving me confidence that I wasn't completely on the wrong track! In my first week, a partner took me for coffee so I could freely ask any questions I had, and I did the same with my Supervisor in the second week. My trainee buddies were also there if ever I needed help.
Never bored, never swamped. I had a bit of juggling work, to do which is all part of the experience, but I was certainly never required to stay late. If on the rare occasion I had nothing to do I simply worked on my group presentation which we had to present at the end of the two weeks.
A very acceptable amount. Obviously you don't expect to be dealing with clients alone, but I felt useful, and the work I was doing felt important.
The Company
Friendly and relaxed yet always professional. There is an open door policy, and I was sitting with a Partner in my first week. Every one came to say hi and have a little chat with me, and there seemed to be a birthday celebration every day in the office!
We were given a timetable nearly two weeks in advance, and any changes were made very clear to us, via our Outlook calenders. There were various social events planned, and each morning there was a focus-on presentation from a department. This meant that we were able to get a true feel for the firm as a whole, despite only sitting in two departments.
Everyone was interested in us. They wanted us to do well and as a result, everyone made a real effort to make sure our time for enjoyable and worthwhile.

I would accept a training contract offer with TW with no reservations whatsoever.
The Culture
Everyone got on very well. We went bowling, and to the Comedy club during the placement, as well as going for drinks on various occasions. We tried to meet for lunch each day, and the group presentation work meant we all worked together very closely.
The centre of London speaks for itself.
There are several bars in the Square, and you're never far from anywhere in central london.
Bowling, Comedy club, curry, drinks, we were also invited to attend the probono clinic witht he trainees which was a really good experience.
