The Role
I was given actual responsibilites and I saw what my work was used for...best thing an intern could wish for in my opinion!
They treat me like part of the team; going out for lunch, gossiping and don't treat me like an intern.
Whenever I emailed them or needed their help, they were more than happy to help. On one day I was the only person from the team in the office but they kept checking up on me in case I felt overwhelmed.
I was VERY busy, but I enjoyed this as it was realistic to what it would actually be like if I worked here. Also, I asked for work, whereas my manager always told me to let her know if I had too much.
I was given soo much responsibility (obviously my manager would check through everything I did). Every morning when I got into the office I knew what I had to be doing, I didn't need to keep asking for work. I was give regular jobs that I had to do every week and expected to get on with it.
I'm a pro at Excel now...amazing! My computing skills have also improved GREATLY! This will help me for the rest of my life (no exaggeration).
The Company
We had fun, but we never forgot there was work to be done! Perfect balance!
I knew who I had to see at the start and was placed on a team where there was actual work for me to do.
My manger had to cover for someone on paternity leave but she ALWAYS had time to help me.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
I was told by a Director, that from my feedback there'd be no problem and I'd have a job if I wanted it :-)
The Culture
Depends really, some of them didn't want to be social but I have made friends for life.
Very expensive, but we got paid more than enough.
Loads of pubs, clubs and anything you could want.
We had extra cirricular fairs and there was always something going on...if you wanted to get invovled that is!
