The Role
A brilliant introduction to a working environment providing a great exposure to a whole range of engineering and science companies.
Responsibility is given to you so that others will go to you for help and you are rewarded accordingly.
Constant feedback and training to ensure you and the company get the most from the year.
Never a quiet day, there are times that you are extremely busy and have to expect that you will be worked hard.
As much as you wish to undertake, there are a lot of options to make the year as you want it to be.
Even being a Mechanical student I found that I saw what mechanical companies were doing and learnt a whole range of skills that can be transferred into a number of industries.
The Company
A fantastic office with a very young average age and easy to get along with people.
Clearly it has been honed over the years and they are constantly looking for ways to improve the experience.
A huge amount of training is supplied at the beginning putting you through professional courses as well as weekly training on various technologies.
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
You can see a clear progression line and see people moving up it throughout the year that you spend there, giving you confidence that you can do the same.
The Culture
Due to the young average age there are invites to things most nights of the week.
Not too cheap for the housing but nightlife was standard small-town price.
One thing that Newbury does lack although people still give it a good go as well as being near Reading
Yes, always invites to weekend activities as well as several company organised days out.
