The Role
I really enjoyed working at NI, I have taken away lots of new skills that will help me in my final year at University.
From my very first day I was made to feel as part of the team, and treated as an equal. I always felt I could ask for help if I was unsure about anything.
I was given support my management often, however, they weren't always around... but in that case my colleagues would be more than happy to help and guide me.
I had a fairly stable work load, sometimes I did find myself with not enough to do, and during busy times everyone would be overloaded. But on average I had a good workload.
I was treated as an equal on my placement, and as I grew and learnt I was given more responsibility.
I will take away a number of skills that will help me both back at University and in my career. I have built upon the theories taught in my lectures and learnt some new ones to take back with me.
The Company
NI has been voted one of the best places to work for 7 consecutive years, this reflects the good work-hard, play-hard atmosphere in the office.
My placement was fairly well organised. I did miss out on getting a review till my year was nearly up due to the manger workloads.
I was given good amount of training and responsibility when I first started, however after about 6 months or so I felt I could have had some more in depth training to widen my knowledge on the tools we used.

Company Parties/Events
I would like to come back and work at NI, I will keep my eyes open for any job opportunities!
The Culture
NI take on many Interns and new graduates so there is a very good social side to work.
Newbury Isn't the cheapest place to live, however there are often drink promotions on in the bars to make things cheaper.
Newbury doesn't have the best nightlife - however, it is the people that make the night not the place!
NI are always organised staff / charity events to get involved in.
