The Role
It has been an amazing experience. They provide you with so many opportunities to experience the asset management industry. I've been taken to roadshows and numerous meetings. I've taken part in conference calls and worked on various tasks.
Honestly the best working environment I've ever been in. My colleagues have been very friendly and have been patient whenever something needed to be explained to me.
Everyday my managers checked to see if I was happy with the task I'd been set and if I wanted any further responsibility. They even allowed me to tag along to some high level meetings.
The workload was good but never stressful. Realistic deadlines were set and efficient processes were in place to ensure the punctual delivery of tasks.
I've met and liaised with clients, engaged in meetings, created projects (which would be used), suggested new ideas to my managers.
Not only have I learned the intricacies of the asset management industry (front and back offices operations), I've also gained some knowledge that will definitely help with one of my final year modules at university.
The Company
An efficient environment where everything seemed to get done, however, it never seemed stressful or rushed. If a person passed your desk, they'd always say hello.
Before I started my placement I was asked which area I would like to work in. After that I was sent a plan of how my weeks would be laid out. I was place on 4 rotations over the course of 8 weeks and each rotation started and ended seamlessly.
Not only did my managers dedicate time every week to discuss my personal development, they also enrolled me on several internal courses.

Company Parties/Events
My managers have been pleased with my performance so far, so fingers crossed.
The Culture
All interns had a social get-together which gave us an opportunity to all meet. We occasionally meet for lunch and have met after work on some occasions.
Central London is pretty expensive with lunch costing around £5.
Originally being from London, I have a good idea of the fun night spots around
There are weekly football matches and there was a korfball tournament at the beginning of the year.
