The Role
I was given an opportunity to work on a real life problem; although the jab was not easy, I was given an opportunity to ask question from very clever people. My manager was very considerate and help and support was always there when I needed it.
The team I was working with tried its best to give me the experience of being a member of a team. I was taken to weekly meetings where I had to give an update of my project, and had a chance to find out more about other projects within the team.
My manager was one of the reasons I really loved Morgan Stanley. He was very easy to work with, and he was always giving me the priority when I needed a help; In occasions which he was not able to help me, he was always guiding me to the right person. In one line, HE KNEW WHAT HE WAS DOING.
I am kind of confused why Bored and too busy are next to each other ?! Taugh jobs are not supposed to be easy ! The project was not easy and I wanted to finish it, therefore I always had things to do. Being busy at work is NOT a bad thing, you learn more and you get rewarded better.
I was given the chance to be fully responsible for my projects and do things in my own way, however in such a big organisations there are always lots of dependency on other tools and people.
I was regularly receiving feedbacks from my manager and variety of people in the firm. Where I needed training, my manager and his colleagues kindly accepted to provide an individual training for me. In Morgan Stanley if you are good at what you do and you are passionate, they make sure you get the right training.
The Company
People are always smiley and nice, but of course the amount of time that you can spend to chat and tell jokes will be dependent on the level of your responsibilities.
I really think HR did a great job in organising events and talk; everything was planned in advance.
I received an experience and training, I can not put a price on. I was given advices by many experts, whom knew their area very well.
