The Role
Really enjoyed all the work that I got involved in. Given some very interesting and diverse research tasks.
Everyone thanked me for the work I did for them. One of the associates even emailed me after, saying she particularly liked my recommendations at the bottom of my research memo.
Given support and guidance throughout, but obviously expected to carry out independent research and speak to the members of research staff if I had any problems with the task set.
Always busy. Stayed late on most nights, but enjoyed getting involved and feeling that I made good contributions.
Carried out some very interesting research tasks, but would have liked to have gone to client meetings etc.
I have learnt so much about a career in the City and how top commercial law firms operate through my time at Mayer Brown. I have interacted with trainees through to partners and they have been very open and shared their knowledge with me. I have particularly developed my skills in time management, being confident and seeking work and research.
The Company
Collegiate and open. Very friendly working environment.
Everything was clearly planned. Great diversity of activities outside working in the office.
Given presentations and talks throughout the vacation scheme. Partners very approachable and gave me lots of their time.
Subsidised Canteen
International Travel
Company Parties/Events
Yet to find out the outcome of my application.
The Culture
Everyone was sociable and friendly. On most days we all arranged to have lunch together and occasionally went for post-work drinks.
London is very expensive, but the firm paid for all international travel and any lunches that we had outside the office. We were even given spending money in Paris.
Great, nightlife scene, with lots of young professionals.
Lots of fun activities arranged outside the office.
