The Role
Very enjoyable. Was able to spend a week in each division within Deloitte and felt like a valued part of the team.
All staff were willing to talk to us and work was set by all colleagues and good feeback given.
Brilliant. We had meetings with partners and senior managers and had lots of work and guidance from the more junior workers at the firm.
This was a bit of mixed bag, some days busy, some not at all. Depended on the client and how busy the department was during your stay. Summer is not typically their busy season.
A good level given my limited technical knowledge. I was still able to interview clients on my own and phone different authorities to gather information.
Good skills developed: mainly time management and organisation, along with teamworking skills and interviewing skills.
The Company
Great atmosphere, everyone is happy to be there and happy that you are there. The free stock of fruit and snacks also created a good atmosphere. The fact that partners and senior management are so accessible also creates a good vibe.
Very well organised, everyone had work available for us and feedback forms prepared for us.
We experienced a week long induction before the internship in a posh hotel in Birmingham. This involved some fun teambuilding activities, presentation and interviewing skills which did aid with personal development. They also took the time to fully explain each task to you and the theory behind it.
Company Parties/Events
Have my final interview coming up. Finger's crossed!
The Culture
We had an intern social with a huge budget, made even bigger thanks to a partner contribution. We were also invited to standard Deloitte socials which helped make us feel included, for instance the summer BBQ and the Deloitte summer party.
Lived at home in London, commuting was quite expensive, but whilst in audit all travel was expensed.
Most pubs per square kilometre in the country. Quite a lot of clubs are 21+ though which is quite annoying for interns.
Some activities, for instance I played in the Deloitte five aside team.
