The Role
The work was always engaging, I had a wide variety of projects which really kept me interested and allowed me to see the wide variety of work that Cancer Research UK does.
I think the most telling factor is that I will miss the people after I have finished. They have been so helpful and caring, but also genuinely the most friendly office I have ever come across.
Support was always available and my intern manager often checked up on me to check I was still okay.
About halfway through my work levels dipped however this was really quickly addressed and I felt I had the right balance.
I was given quite a lot of responsibility, my projects were my own and I could deal with them how I saw appropriately.
Really useful office and team working skills, a really useful insight into the business and charity sector.
The Company
I was based at home for my internship due to unforeseen circumstances however they allowed me to travel to head office which would not normally occur. The office was absolutely fantastic, I looked forward to work every day as the people were so fantastic, It made me so much more productive.
Despite having problems of the office I should have been closing, they dealt with this really well and I never had any problems with the company due to lack of organisation.
I went on a few training sessions, particularly useful was a CV and Interview skills session, which will help me for job applications in the future. This was helpful for all jobs too, not for their own benefit.

Working from home
I would love to work for Cancer Research UK, the only downsides for me would be having to move to London away from my family.
The Culture
Social events often occurred however this was often a smaller group and as I was based at home I could only attend a few of these.
Living at home was clearly free! When I travelled to London I had to stay with friends as Cancer Research UK would not have payed for accommodation but mainly because it was my choice to go to London.
In London there were lots of pubs and bars in easy walking distance from the office.
I took part in a photoshoot and we also had an intern fundraiser.
