The Role
In general within the organisation, great. My specific role, less so. Do lots of research before choosing which internship to apply for - perhaps contact to ask more specifically what you'll be working on.
People talk very highly of the interns.
Quite a bit. At the same time, given lots of space to use initiative and get on with things which I like.
Some days were very busy, others a bit too free, but after a few weeks in you are in control of your projects so can better pace the work.
Quite a bit, altough not over hugely influential projects (understandably). Would have maybe liked s bit more.
Definitely some useful skills developed, but I do not want to persue a career in the specific area I worked in so it wasn't exceptionally useful.
The Company
I was in a very small team so it wasn't as fun as others sounded, but nice relaxed and good-humoured atmosphere.
Very good. Lots of structure, opportunity for feedback etc
I was lucky enough to have someone on the grad-scheme mentor me. Without this, it would've been more of a 6. We had a useful applications advice day but my manager did not invest highly in personal development. The mentoring scheme was amazing though; I received a lot of indiviudal attention and it really helped to focus my own objectives.
Subsidised Canteen
Healthcare/Dental
Not personally, because I want to work internationally.
The Culture
Very good. Obviosuly people are busy with their own social lives but the big group of interns meant there was nearly always someone to go for a drink with,
Generally pricey, but no more than you'd expect for London, and some great deals to be found nearby. Plus, CR-UK employees have loads of local discounts and benefits.
We didn't take full advantage of it, but loads of happy hours, lots of fun bars with dj's and live music. Not much in the way of clubs but you wouldn't go to those straight after work anyway.
Yep, lots of fundraising stuff, lots of focs groups, photoshoots, talks, exercise classes...
