The Role
The academy was a thoroughly enjoyable experience with great people and teachers. Would definitely recommend the course to anyone regardless of whether they want to work for EY or not.
You're surrounded by like minded students who don't know each other so you bond as a group over the four days.
You are facilitated by EY staff who are knowledgeable and friendly. The course itself is run by tutors from one of the best business schools in the UK.
The days are busy, like any working day would be. There are talks and discussions during the day followed by other activities in the evenings.
The aim of the course is to develop your skills which is party done through discussions and talks, partly through reflection on yourself and others and partly through physical tasks and games. Therefore responsibility isn't as you might expect but general responsibility when working in groups etc.
I can not recommend the course enough as it has definitely changed my way of looking at self evaluation and how I impact others within a group.
The Company
It is rather amazing how much EY have put into this short course. It is designed to the spec desired for upper management yet given to us the students at no cost.
Acts as a fast track for internships or potentially graduate job offers. Not necessarily a given that you will receive an offer, however the course does train you in skills picked up on within assessment centres.
The Culture
Social events were organised, however they were not the focus of the four days.
Everything is paid for.
