    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • GSK is a great company to work in - my department is especially fun, the people make the work great and I'm given enough challenge in my job.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • We generally have lunches together, we've had a team day out. My manager always makes time to come and chat to all of us at some point during the day.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My manager has given me a whole lot of guidance, especially helps with my Uni coursework that I need to do this year!

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Some days can be extremely busy, but I don't mind at all. Other days (e.g. at the start) there wasn't much to do except for training modules which were a bit dull but it can't be helped as they needed to be done.

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given the chance to develop a proposal and present it to the senior members of the business, once I got it approved I was able to get it up and running, with help when I needed it.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • 4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Really fun office, people of all different ages but everyone was so friendly

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • It's been very good so far, I've got a few suggestions to improve it for next year's intake - so hopefully it'll be even better.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Training courses I went on cost the company money, but they were still happy enough to pay for it so that I could learn more.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Sports and Social Club

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    Company Parties/Events

    Staff Sales/Staff Shop

    Above 25 days holiday

    Working from home

    5/5

  • Loads of IPs working at GSK - great atmosphere!

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Living in London is ofcourse expensive.. as is socialising but it doesn't mean that its not done!

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Brentford itself isn't great - but we're only 30mins from Central London where the nightlife is brilliant, otherwise Ealing/Chiswick/Richmond/Kingston is also very close by.

    2/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There are lots of sports teams, we do charity days as teams.
