The Role
The work was not particularly enjoyable, but it wasn't too bad.
I definitely felt appreciated by colleagues.
As I was doing actual client work, I had to be supported and guided through what was required.
I was never sitting around waiting for work. The latest I went home was before 6:30.
PwC really trust you to do actual work on your internship. This is because all work will be reviewed by someone else in the team for the first several years of your career.
Accounting and excel skills will be useful for lots of jobs and hopefully my interpersonal skills were also improved.
The Company
The first team I worked in was good fun while the second was a bit more serious.
The only slight issues were around intern events which weren't put into calendars until very short notice which meant that managers were expecting us to be working on days when we would actually be doing internship projects and only found out the details at short notice.
The induction lasted a whole week, the first three days at a hotel.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
In general very good, but I now want to work in a different industry.
The Culture
Being out at clients meant it was hard to socialise, but I was invited to several events even if I couldn't actually attend them.
I was surprised to find a pint for £2.50 in the City of London on the one social event I managed to attend.
Central London - obviously lots going on.
I think there were some social media opportunities but I don't remember hearing about how to get involved with them.
