The Role
It was interesting. Learned a lot of new things, however it wasn't as if I was developing a cure for cancer.
Amazing team. One of the best groups of people I have ever met.
My direct manager was always helpful, patient and didn't get annoyed even if had to explain the same thing to me multiple times.
Occasionally I ran out of things to do, but overall OK.
I got a standalone project to do and was entirely responsible for it. Also at the end had to present the completed product to the teams who will be using it (60 people overall).
Developed my programming skills. It was in fact a first real application I have ever developed.
The Company
Sometimes drinks after work. Generally very positive.
Detailed spec in the first week. Sometimes however lacking documentation on the stuff already created (like the database from which I had to gather the data for my application)
It was mainly good will of my manager and the team, however HR organised a few events as well.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Working from home
While still at uni I would like to try as many things as possible but definitely a good place to go!
The Culture
Since I was based in a different building than most other interns, I did not have much interaction with them, unfortunately.
Canary Wharf, not the cheapest place on Earth.
No idea, don't care.
I bet if you wanted you could find some, but I didn't care.
