The Role
I didn't really enjoy anything that I was working on. When I asked to spend a day with another division, my manager refused.
I was kept isolated from my team (given a desk away from the rest of the team by myself) and whilst I was able to ask for help, everyone was quite grudging in providing support.
We were supported by a 'buddy'
I either had far too much work or far too little - when I didn't have enough work, I was refused any more work once I requested it.
I don't feel as though any of the work I completed will actually make a tangible difference. Additionally, one of the projects I worked on did not have any real purpose to it - they gave it to me just to keep me busy on the desk.
Waste of time - did not learn anything new.
The Company
The office was at least lively, and people (other than my team) were friendly and would come up to me and chat.
Left much to be desired - the internship program was presented as an opportunity to get a grad offer, but nobody in my division received one. I feel that this was poor false advertising.
We received leather folders, but that was it.
They didn't hire anyone from my division on as a graduate and I didn't feel valued as an employee. The culture is not well suited to me.
The Culture
THe interns would get together occasionally but there was not a strong collegiate atmosphere I feel.
Central London is expensive!
Didn't go out much in the area that I worked - prefer to go to places I am familiar with that are a bit closer.
Didn't offer any opportunities outside of work.
