The Role
I really enjoyed my internship. The people were friendly, I learnt a lot and had fun during the many socials.
I felt that they cared about my internship experience and wanted me to enjoy myself and learn a lot as well. I also felt that they wanted me to be part of the team and hoped that I would join them in the future.
I asked a lot of questions whenever I was unsure of something and the people were very helpful in explaining things to me. If I still couldn't quite grasp a concept, they were still patient and would try to simplify their explanation until it was clear to me.
For an intern, I think I was quite busy and had quite a fair bit of work to do. It could be because I was constantly asking for work but they were never short of work for me and tried to give me a variety of tasks.
I have definitely improved my communication skills which in my opinion is one of the most important skills to have. I have grown more confident in myself and my skills. And of course the whole internship experience is invaluable.
The Company
It was quite quiet at times probably due to the summer holidays and London Olympics.
Overall I though my internship was well structured. I was engaged to clients and was never short of work. However I my final interview was not on my last day of work as planned.
The company organised a week long induction for networking and training, which I thought was good.
Financial Bonus
Job prospects are good even though its recession, the company is investing heavily on people.
The Culture
I think we all clicked pretty well and could form a pretty good team. However there wasn't much socialising outside of the office due to a number of reasons.
The cost of living is decent but drinks are quite expensive.
There were a few bars and clubs, nothing spectacular.
There were quite a few socials organised by the company but apart from that there wasn't much to do in the town.
