The Role
The twelve weeks really did go by really fast and by the end I felt like part of the team.
I had more to do with some parts of the team than others> I felt really involved with our sub-team though.
I had 2 1-2-1 meetings a week to discuss how I was doing as well as to give me help on anything I particularly wanted to work on and develop.
As with any job there were peaks and troughs - some days were really hectic while others could be a bit slow. Fridays were hard sometimes!
There was a nice balance between having projects that I ran to do myself and little odd-jobs for my manager.
It is good to have experience working in an office and corporate environment so that I will be more used to it once I finish my degree and start working full-time. I have gained confidence in approaching people in this sort of environment.
The Company
Our team was really friendly and the other interns were great.
There were plenty of meetings to track my progress and development opportunities provided, such as a CV and interview skills day.
I had a 1-2-1 organised each week with someone in my team to talk about particular skills I wanted to develop. She gave me information about some of these things and set up meetings with other teams so that I could find out more about other parts of the company.
Subsidised Canteen
I'd definitely consider applying for a job here after I finish university.
The Culture
We'd always organise lunch or drinks after work together. It was all very informal but good fun.
Anywhere in London is pretty pricey - no more expensive than anywhere else!
Nice pubs and bars!
A few ad hoc things were organised but no regular activities that I was aware of.
