The Role
I really enjoyed working the long hours and getting a chance to see how an investment bank is run.
As an easter intern, you are extremely junior. Most people don't know who you are. However your line managers and mentors are usually very helpful when they give you some time.
They dont have an awful lot of time for you. Your kinda all for yourself.
I usually had stuff to do. If I didnt I had to read through loads of journals. It was quite intense.
Quite a lot. I had to step up to the plate and deliver presentations twice within the two weeks.
I learnt an awful lot about the business and the credit markets. I still remember this stuff to the date was very useful in understanding the cause of the credit crunch.
The Company
There was good team ethic but most people were worried as there jobs were on the line due to the credit crunch.
Very well organised program. Throughly enjoyable.
We were given two days of training and regular networking lunches. This was very useful to learn.
Good pay. Good opportunities.
The Culture
Very good. I enjoyed this side a lot.
Expensives as its the City and London.
Sports teams e.g rugby and cricket on the weekend. Chances to be involved in charity events etc.
