The Role
Great people to work with, good internship structure giving you exposure to the respective divisions.
Being appreciated for taking on smaller responsibilities to help the team.
Colleagues were keen to give me career advice and watch my back throughout the internship.
Market is generally quiet with bursts of activity from time to time; it is unavoidable that there'll be idle moments with the team during the day.
As soon as my systems were up I was handling daily business roles and working with people from different parts of the business.
A great opportunity to test and develop one's working attitude and approach to problem-solving.
The Company
People were generally fun and serious at the right times; though with the restructuring of the business there were some "internal politics" moments.
Overall it was smooth and well-balanced without any major problems, which was very good considering the new structure being implemented this year.
Classroom training, tehnical skills sessions, Q&A with business leaders.
Company Parties/Events
Due to the current restructuring and macroeconomic climate, it may be wise to wait for things to settle down more.
The Culture
Bowling and sports events with the interns; social events among the business/team; weekly catch-up drinks with other interns from other divisions.
Good mix of stores catering to various budgets.
Generally quiet with the exception of the pubs in the area.
Campus ambassador program, A-level intern insight, CSR project, fundraising project.
