The Role
I enjoyed my internship at RBS and the culture at the company, but realised early on that I did not want to pursue a career in Operations.
I felt very valued by my colleagues as I was completing work which was actively helping their day to day workload.
I was given adequate support throughout my time at RBS, through the buddy system and my peers.
I was not particularly busy in the first few weeks but as my workload and system knowledge built up I was happy with my workload.
I was completing the same BAU work as apprentices and other grads who had joined a few weeks before me.
Practiced my presentation skills, IT skills and communication skills.
The Company
Positive and Supportive
Very well structured and it was clear that a lot of thought had gone into it.
A week long induction in the first week as well as continued training throughout the 10 weeks.
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
I would like to work at RBS, but just in a different division. The work culture and atmosphere there was great!
The Culture
Yes, we went out most weekends and to eat after work.
Worked in the European Operations Centre in Manchester so everything was reasonably priced and I lived at home.
Manchester has very good nightlife.
Yes, there was loads of CSR and social activities going on. There was a summer BBQ for all employees.
