The Role
Very enjoyable placement. The work I was assigned was quite enjoyable and gave me a sense of start to finish responsibility for a project that then turned out to have real business impact. The team were great fun as well. When productivity is combined with a good team culture, you automativally enjoy your time, and that's certainly the case with me.
I was primarily working on a project that was effectively a consultancy project and therefore didnt contribute to any of the BAU (Business as usual) activities. However I did take on a BAU role that takes up a good 30 mins of everyone's time everyday so I think my colleagues valued me for that in particular.
Both my manager and team leader have been extremely supportive and struck the right balance between independence and supervision.
Quite busy - except the first 2 weeks the combination of project work and BAU did take up most of my day. Having said that I had enough time to network and TALK to the people around me, something I feel is key to both success and productivity.
Complete responsibility for my project - promotes dedication and ownership! Complete responsibility for a BAU process as well so made me feel useful!
2 way process for sure. Time Management being key. Prioritising the work load was of immense importance and is certainly something I shall now carry back into my degree studies.
The Company
Chilled throughout the day but quiet at the busy periods. Fun people, great atmosphere
Pretty well organised and complemented RBS's working culture quite beautifully.
Extensive training was provided. Perhaps a bit more technical training needed
Company Parties/Events
Would love to receive a full time offer!
The Culture
Very good. Events every other day!
Very expensive, Zone 1 in the City!
Pretty Good. Zone 1, Liverpool street. Shoreditch round the corner!
Quite a few opportunities, yes. Including compulsory CSR
