The Role
Very enjoyable internship. Was kept busy throughout and had lots of opportunity for networking with management.
The Manchester office was very laid back and everyone was very quick to help and to listen to your own point of view straight form the start.
Excellent introduction and ongoing support. Feedback given where applicable, management 'pep talks' given as a bonus.
I personally directed a lot of my own time and projects, and was quite free to do so. Other people on other teams had a more structured timetable.
Responsibility given from the start. Opportunity to change processes and present these to senior management. Was supported and listened to on a continuous basis.
Fantastic skills and knowledge gained about the financial sector. Had the opportunity to learn about other teams. My degree is in an unrelated field but the 'soft skills' developed will be invaluable.
The Company
Fun and relaxed. An atmosphere of hard work but at times very light hearted. Towards the end of the week people relaxed more
Extremely well organised and a sense that the programme is thoroughly planned and executed. Communication were regular and concerns or questions were answered quickly
Fantastic first week training in London. Ongoing weekly learning about other teams on the floor. Access to an online knowledge base was particularly useful.
Subsidised Canteen
National Travel
Financial Bonus
Very clear assessment criteria and lots of opportunities to 'shine'. Feedback given after assessments.
The Culture
Small group of interns (twelve), everybody got on well and other team members were sociable too. good communication between other interns in London
Manchester in general is cheap, however the Deansgate area where the office was based is not so cheap.
Manchester has some of the best Nightlife in europe! Always something to do every night of the week.
Had a volunteering day at a school which was very beneficial. Was encouraged to get involved in Charity activities.
