The Role
The summer internship at MUSI is excellent. Should you take it, expect to find a friendly working environment, approachable colleagues and good opportunities for learning.
I was never set work just for the sake of keeping me occupied -- the work I was given was of some use to the desks I was on, and provided me with a good introduction to both the firm and the industry.
There is good communication between people at the desks, and I was always able to ask my manager questions.
The workload varied quite significantly, but on the whole I usually had at least 1 or 2 tasks on the go at any one time.
On occasion I was given tasks of some importance and consequence, along with my ordinary day-to-day responsibilities.
At the start of the internship, we were given a one-week training course by an outside provider, 7City. This provided me with technical understanding of the industry which I had not previously developed in my degree. This has allowed me to be better placed to take outside-options at university in finance and accounting. It has also better prepared me for a career in the industry.
The Company
Collegiate and relaxed -- people are friendly and willing to talk, and there is no sense of tension or animosity between colleagues.
The organisation was faltless, and the procession of events ran very smoothly from start to finish.
As aforementioned, the company provided a one-week training course. It also provided online learning modules for us to take in a wide variety of topics, presentation skills training (also by 7City), and weekly learning sessions which took place during a lunch-time.

Company Parties/Events
MUSI is a great company, and I would have no hesitations about taking a position with them were I to be offered one.
The Culture
Some students were more willing to socialise after work than others, but no-one was left out. Further, there were no arguments between the students -- everyone seemed to get along very well.
London is expensive, but the extent of the costs are largely determined by how much you wish to socialise and where. There are more affordable bars in the area, and we never felt compelled to spend more than we wanted.
There are several restaurants and pubs/bars across the road.
There have been a number of social events held for us, including a sushi making night, bowling, CSR and drinks receptions. I was also invited along to a team dinner with one of my desks.
