The Role
I have really enjoyed my time at MUSI. This was my first internship in the Investment Banking industry so it was a huge learning experience, but a thoroughly enjoyable one.
People at the company were always willing to answer questions and take time out of their day to assist me with my learning.
We were assigned a ‘buddy’ for each of our rotations (these tended to be recent graduates) and we got a chance to meet them before joining the desk. There was also an opportunity to meet your managers before starting at the company and to have an informal chat about what was expected of us. Throughout the process I found the buddy system to be really useful and although the managers were busy, I found them also to be very approachable.
It tended to vary on a daily basis. Some days I would be staying late to finish off my tasks, where as some days there was not much for me to do, instead I was trying to complete online learning modules, and speak to and spend time with as many members of the business as I could.
I felt like I was being given meaningful tasks, whilst being explained how what I was doing would help the business.
I have learnt a huge amount during the 11 week process, some of which will help me in my final year at University, but all of which will be beneficial in my future career.
The Company
Very friendly atmosphere, people were always willing to answer questions and to help you learn.
Very well organised. There was an event before the internship started, allowing us to meet members of our team and fellow interns, and then numerous events organised throughout the internship.
We had a week long, classroom based training programme which gave us a good overview of the financial industry and the products MUSI deal with. We also had Lunch and Learn sessions every week allowing us to find out about other areas of the business whilst also having access to a huge variety of online training modules.

Company Parties/Events
Feedback regarding the graduate programme I received was excellent, and I would be delighted to receive a full time offer.
The Culture
Interns met up for lunch most days, and we tried to get together after work for drinks/ food as often as we could.
A lot higher then it is at University, but that was to be expected.
A few decent pubs/bars near to the office (with happy hours until 8.30!)
Social events amongst interns and graduates and a CSR day.
