The Role
Internship was very enjoyable. I felt like I was learning so much every day, being given new tasks and projects, and getting to grips with the way my desk worked along with the bank as a whole
Everybody on the desk was incredibly keen to help and many of the tasks I was given were going to be used by the salespeople. This allowed me to feel like I was adding value to the desk.
I had 2 reviews with my line manager which were generally very positive. I would've liked some more constructive critisism as throughout the internship I struggled to find our what more I could do/what I could do differently
We were given several daily tasks to do throughout the internship, and several weekly reports. These kept us very busy along with a group project that lasted for the whole internship
Given enough responsibility as an intern. I wasn't thrown in right at the deep end, but got given relevant and useful things to do. Responsibility was built up throughout the 10 weeks
I am a Maths student so a lot of the things that I learnt won't be directly transferable to my degree, but I also learnt many soft skills including presenting and approaching people. I also learnt many things about the banking industry to progress my future career.
The Company
The internship is placed in summer, which is a notoriously quiet period, but this gave me the oppportunity to sit with lots of people, ask questions and learn more about the bank. The trading floor is a dynamic environment and there is a real sense of teamwork.
Internship was well organised and the new 'speed rotatio' system seemed to work. However, I did feel that 10 weeks is too long for the programme (8 weeks would've been perfect).
Training was useful, I learnt a huge amount being on the desk and people were incredibly willing to help.

Company Parties/Events
At the moment, still waiting to hear on employment prospects
The Culture
The majority of interns got on very well and there were some events organised. However, due to working long hours and getting up very early, these events were infrequent.
London is expensive, but the salary reflects that. Numerous food shops and bars are in the area and are reasonably priced.
London nightlife is varied but can be expensive
We had a charity challenge to raise as much money as possible, CSR days and also an intern sports event. There were several sports tournaments organised by the employees of M&IB to get involved in
