The Role
I was lucky enough to get onto a desk which I am most interested in. The whole experience has been both enjoyable and enriching.
Since my team is small, I feel very involved in the daily work which is good as I get to learn a lot.
My line manager is often too busy to give detailed guidance. However he did teach me how to get the necessary support from elsewhere.
I was less fully occupied with work in the last few weeks of the internship as many people went on holiday. However there was still work to do and it was hard to get bored on this desk.
Much more than what I expected and I could totaly feel my team's trust on me.
I learnt a lot during work on the desk. However more technical training/excel and bloomberg training would be useful.
The Company
Very friendly atmosphere and a lot of jokes.
I would recommend changes to be made to the home desk system as it may not put people on their most suited desks. It also discourages interns to rotate if they were initially allocated to an okay desk even though they might prefer other desks as they were afraid of losing the initial home desks.
More technical training would be useful.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
Unknown yet but seems promising.
The Culture
Very good rapport between people.
Typical London standard.
No idea as I'm not active in this aspect.
Lots of charity and social events going on.
