The Role
Stimulating experience, with so much to offer in all aspects of the programme
Friendly individuals who welcomed me into their teams and considered me a part of their teams too
Fantastic support and explanations whenever needed. I was never left clueless when asked to complete a complicated task, team members would take time out of their day to explain things to me, regularly and without showing any inconvenience
Some days more busy than others. I always was occupied with one thing or another, and the very busy days transpired into busy nights!
I was given an appropriate degree of responsibility. Whilst I was not left unattended with anything that would potentially lose the bank money or go to a client without being checked, I was left to conduct my own project and present my findings without any detailed guidance.
My major project which I worked on was directly relevant to my degree and interest areas. In addition, I developed skills with Excel and Powerpoint and learned so much about the industry and work environment. I recognise also what areas I have left to improve on; these are areas I wasn't aware of before and now can focus my development.
The Company
Upbeat environment, especially as much of the internship clashed with summer and Olympics.
I was very impressed with the internship programme. There were many events put on for us, lots of attention paid to our welfare, and a focus on a reciprocal relationship throughout our time here.
Great training opportunities were offered. There can always be more in this field, but in the given time, we had access to self-study modules as well as training sessions and a training week at the start.
Company Parties/Events
Have not found out yet!
The Culture
Fantastic. Lots of events formally and informally organised. Always had somewhere to go.
Very expensive near Liverpool Street, London.
Great nightlife, but I tended not to have much time to enjoy it whilst working.
Sports days, CSR day building a playground, charity work
